Miles Julien’s Youngblood Wins First M32 Event
J Racing Sweeps Podium
MIAMI (January 11, 2026) — Miles Julien’s time is here. After a string of second place finishes, including silver at the 2024 M32 World Championship, Youngblood takes the cake at the 2026 M32 Miami Winter Series kickoff.
It was also a milestone for the Julien family. Julien teams swept the podium for the first time. Miles claimed the win, his father Bobby Julien finished second, and youngest brother Charlie rounded out the trio in third.
Now 17 years old, Miles has sailed four Miami Winter Series seasons with nearly the same team. “We come to almost every event, and we’ve been together since the beginning,” he said. “That makes this win even more special.” The team includes Carlos Robles (Spain), Bernardo Freitas (Portugal), Moritz Spitzhauer (Austria), and Dan Morris (Minnesota, USA). “Everyone has something to bring to the table,” said Miles.
“We’ve been working very hard as a team for a few years now, and we’ve always been very close,” said tactician Carlos Robles. “It feels good to finally get an event win. We had a tough Worlds and made some mistakes, but we learned from them. This result shows we’re on the right path again.”
As for what’s next, the target is clear. “Our goal is to win Worlds,” Miles said. “That would be really great.”
A Shaken-Up Roster
The 2026 opener also featured a major roster refresh across the dock.
Bobby Julien’s Dingbat returned with an elite new crew featuring Jeremy Wilmot, Luke Muller, Alan Johnson, and Olympic gold medalist Max Salminen.
Bill Ruh’s Pursuit, which won the opening day, now sails with an all-American team. It’s the first time for Harry Melges IV calling M32 tactics, a standout debut alongside pros Mac Agnese, Scott Ewing, and Peter Kinney.
Miami Winter Home
The M32 fleet has returned to Miami for the start of its 2026 season. Shake-A-Leg Miami and TUUCI provide a central, easy-access winter base for the fleet, where logistics are simple and the community is strong.
Reigning World Champion Ryan McKillen’s Surge and others will join the pack in February.
After four monthly winter events in January, February, March, and April, the fleet makes its annual migration north to Newport, Rhode Island for a full summer season, culminating in the 2026 M32 World Championship.
